Eighties band Doctor and The Medics will play a special Halloween gig at Mickle Trafford Village Club.

As the ‘first major act’ the venue has booked in 31 years, the band, who reached number one in the charts with their cover of Spirit in the Sky back in 1986, are expected to perform to a packed audience on Saturday October 31.

Led by ‘The Doctor’, lead singer Clive Jackson, the band have been travelling the country and the club organisers are thrilled to have secured them to perform in Mickle Trafford.

Organiser Jane Spence said: “Mickle Trafford Village Club is a non profit organisation run by volunteers to provide a community facility for the village and we are really pleased to have the band coming to play this gig on Halloween.

“We celebrated our 30th anniversary last year with a varied programme of events but when Dr and the Medics came to a private party last year we just knew we wanted them back. After a busy year on the festival circuit we are delighted to be able to welcome them to our club,” she said.
