There are now only a limited number of tickets are available for a weekend event which mixes music and real ale.

The Overton-on-Dee Blues, Roots and Real Ale Festival has attracted a great line-up of acts.

The festival is held at Overton-on-Dee Village Hall on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7.

Just a few miles south of Wrexham, the event always attracts music lovers from the Chester area.

Three acts will play on the Friday, The Big Beat, Babajack and Sunjay, between 7.30pm and 11.30pm.

The fun begins at 1pm on the Saturday and runs till midnight, with music from Jo Harman, Leo 'Bud' Welch (with Dixie Street and Johnny Hewitt), The Revolutionaries, Robin Bibi Band, The Rumblestrutters, and Steve 'Pablo' Jones and Dave Stephens.

Limited tickets are available, costing £30 for the weekend, £10 for the Friday only and £25 for the Saturday.

The info line for tickets, camping and the caravan site is 01978 710413 (call before 9pm). There will be food outlets in the village and at the hall, with 12 real ales and ciders available. A shuttle service will run to local B&Bs, hotels and the caravan site.

All profits go to local community groups and organisations, and towards a village defibrillator.
