Fans of all things Star Wars will be transported to another galaxy at a new fan convention for the film saga in Manchester next month.

Organisers of For The Love Of The Force have transformed an exhibition centre in Trafford Park into several famous locations from the Star Wars films.

Try a pint of blue milk in The Cantina bar, walk around a two storey Ewok village, explore Yoda’s Dagobah swamp, and pop into Jabba The Hutt’s palace complete with an eight feet tall Jabba!

There is a good chance you might run into Darth Vader himself, the actor David Prowse, who is one of 30 headed for Manchester Bowler’s Exhibition Centre on December 4-6.

Full size replicas of iconic vehicles, including the X-wing starfighter plane and the long-legged scout walker, have also been built by a team of around 50 set designers and prop makers based in Stockport.

Around 250 invited guests turned up at the opening night- many in costume - to see the new space, which will host a series of special events in the run up to the convention.

Managing director of the convention Andy Kleek, 35, says he hopes the bar will become a permanent fixture and be available for special events like children’s birthday parties, and may even become a full on cocktail bar if demand is high.
