Some great shots of the filming of the second series of ITV's Home Fires were taken in Chester this morning.

Former Chronicle Head of Sport John Bottomley captured the pictures as cast and crew filmed on Steele Street, where they will be shooting scenes until 8pm tonight.

Members of the production crew yesterday painted out white lines on the road and one of the houses on the street has been taken over to convert the yard into a laundry, and bomb tape was also stuck onto some windows in the street.

It's not the first time the wartime drama has been filmed in Chester city centre - only a few months ago scenes were filmed at the city's Town Hall. They have also been filmed on Tarporley High Street and on location in Bunbury .
