YOU'VE BEEN IN HOLLYOAKS FOR A WHILE NOW, WHAT'S IT BEEN LIKE?
It has been hard work. I've been here more or less nearly every day from when I started - if I'm lucky, I get a bit of a day off. So it has been hard work. I absolutely love it - there's nothing else I'd rather be doing. Because if I do have a day off, I sort of think, 'Well what shall I do with it?'. I'm a bit stuck for things to do.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CHARACTER THERESA MCQUEEN?
My character is a little, feisty, gobby Lolita.
ARE YOU ANYTHING LIKE HER?
To be honest, I'm more laidback, a bit geeky and not as full-on. People in the street think I'm that hard. I think they actually swerve sometimes or just let on and say, 'All right?', and I'm like, 'No, I'm not hard or aggressive'.
WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION WHEN YOU WERE NOMINATED FOR BEST NEWCOMER AT THIS YEAR'S BRITISH SOAP AWARDS?
I didn't believe it. I did NOT believe it. Through the whole night I actually didn't believe I was there. I was a bit fazed by it all.
WERE YOU STAR-STRUCK BY ANY OF THE ACTORS FROM THE OTHER SOAPS?
Every single one. Everyone from EastEnders especially, because you don't bump into them as much. Like Peggy Mitchell, wow. I think she absolutely deserved her award, but she's like... she's got her own soap. She's the godmother. I wouldn't know what to say to her. I know that's really fanatical and weird, but I wouldn't know what to say.
DO YOU ARGUE WITH YOUR FAMILY AS MUCH AS THERESA DOES WITH MYRA AND THE REST OF THE MCQUEEN CLAN?
I've got a relationship with my mum, we're best mates. So really I'd say we sort of bicker like sisters, me and my mum. But it's a good healthy bicker, it's not a screaming, swearing type of bicker.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR ON-SCREEN FAMILY, THE MCQUEENS?
They're all really girly and nice, and we all have a big gossip on-set.
WHAT'S IT LIKE WORKING WITH NICO MIRALLEGRO, WHO PLAYS NEWT?
It's really good actually because I feel that there is a good vibe when I'm working with him. He's good to work with.
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR CHARACTER TO DEVELOP IN THE FUTURE?
I quite like the element of surprise and just thinking, 'Ooh, this has happened', because I'd never, ever think of things that could happen to her. There's a lot of good things coming up actually. I'm content with being her at the moment, because I would not know what I'd do if I was to end this.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE POSING FOR LADS' MAGAZINE LOADED?
At first I was dead, dead, dead nervous because obviously you're going to be nervous as a girl. It was a nice atmosphere and it was a good time. I didn't want to tell my mum straight away, and my grandma as well. It's a good job she's a little bit blind because she didn't really see much! It was weird, all my boy mates were like 'Jorge, checking you out'. Eurgh, it's weird.
