RUNCORN singer Nicola Roberts is fronting a fashion campaign to raise money for Alder Hey’s Imagine Appeal.

The Girls Aloud star – turned solo artist – will be the face of Clothes Throw, a clothes auction where celebrities, stores and fashion houses donate stylish outfits for people to bid for, with all proceeds going towards the children’s hospital.

Alongside Nicola, a host of celebrities and retailers have donated items.

The suit worn by James Bond star Daniel Craig in 2006 hit Casino Royale is up for grabs and other goodies have been donated by celebs such as socialite Nicole Ritchie, Dame Shirley Bassey and actress Sienna Miller.

Nicola, a former St Chad’s pupil, said: “I am really excited to be fronting the Clothes Throw 2011 campaign.

“There are three ways you can help – donate clothes, hold your own Clothes Throw party or attend any of the official Clothes Throw events in Liverpool ONE.

“Everyone can help by finding something in their wardrobe they no longer wear and donate it.

“I’m an avid supporter of the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal. I visit Alder Hey and the patients there really touch my heart.”

An official week of Clothes Throw events kicks off in October at Liverpool ONE’s Palm Sugar bar. There will also be a pop-up Clothes Throw shop in a secret Liverpool ONE location.

The week boasts a series of glitzy catwalk shows and fashion workshops.

Liverpool ONE retailers including Imagine Patron Kirsty Doyle, Jones the Bootmakers and John Lewis also donated clothes and accessories to the campaign.

And everyone who signs up receives a special Clothes Throw party pack.

Senior fundraising manager for Alder Hey Imagine Appeal Chris Done said: “To have the support of Nicola Roberts and Liverpool ONE is amazing for us.

“They are the perfect partners to help us expand the Clothes Throw. Alder Hey is the first choice provider of care for more than 80% of the UK’s healthcare commissioners and we are responsible for the health of more children than any other UK hospital.
