WE might all long for a celebrity lifestyle but few of us actually achieve it. But while yachts, expensive holidays and dinner dates at The Ivy might be out of the question here in Liverpool this month we get the chance to look, if not live, like a celeb.

Alder Hey’s Clothes Throw returns for the third year with an off-the-peg selection of fashion donated for auction by some of the biggest names in the world.

Kate Moss’s dress, Daniel Craig’s suit, Beyonce’s bag and even Joan Collins’s Christmas jumper are among just a few of the items up for grabs.

“Celebs have been very generous this year,” says Rachel Donohoe from the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal office.

“We’ve got some really big names supporting us – I can’t tell you how excited we were when we heard Daniel Craig was on board!

“We raised around £20,000 from the whole event last year and we’re hoping to top that in 2011.”

The Clothes Throw takes place between October 26 and 29 beginning with an event at Palm Sugar where names such as Kirsty Doyle, Benna Harry, Bullet and Andrew Collinge will combine forces to stage a series of catwalk shows.

The following day will see two events at the same venue, an afternoon tea party and then a final auction at which many of the donated clothes will be sold.

Fashion graduates from John Moores will also show their creations on the 28.

Look out too on Saturday for a special pop up shop in the former Habitat store in Mannesty’s Lane where clothes donated by local stores, designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Chanel and Temperley and members of the public will be for sale.

“The whole thing has taken about six months to organise but we’re sure it’s going to be a fabulous event,” says Rachel.
