Love Island will return to our television screens very soon.

The much-loved ITV reality show has attracted scores of fans – and last season became a national talking point.

In April, Love Island host Caroline Flack who has recently announced her engagement to Chester's Andrew Brady, retweeted a post from a gossip account sharing how excited it is for the new series, adding "2. Months."

The start date has been confirmed to Mirror Online by an ITV source – who says the new series will kick off on Monday, June 4 .

The show focuses on young people hoping to find love in the villa, following in the footsteps of last year’s winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies.

A statement from the channel said: “Once again the islanders will take up residence in a spectacular luxury villa in the hope of enjoying a long hot summer of love and romance.

“But to remain on the island, they will have to couple up – and more importantly – win the hearts of the public.”

Next series will feature LGBT islanders, a source told the Daily Star: “ITV want to increase the shock factor of the show and keep people talking, by having LGBT people included.

“The main thing they came under fire for was sex on TV, which people have now started to accept, so come next series people won’t really care about that.”

Cetinay and Davies were voted winners of the 2017 series, beating Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt and Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood, but announced their split.
