A town crier from New Zealand will be heading to Chester for the third time to compete in the World Town Crier Tournament, which begins on August 20.

Central Otago town crier Paddy-Ann Pemberton and her husband Rod will arrive in Nantwich tomorrow (Friday) to stay at a working dairy farm B&B, Henhull Hall.

Paddy-Ann said: “As farmers we love to visit and observe how it is done abroad.”

She has been town crying for 12 years.

She added: “Having relocated from Gore in 2009, I have been crying for Central Otago since then.

“I am known as ‘The Gal with the Bell and the Very Loud Yell’.

As Hunters Chester Land Rover is sponsoring the final in Chester on August 23, Paddy-Ann decided to send us a picture of her having ‘a little fun on a KIWI Land Rover’.
