The team at Theatretrain is gearing up for a busy term.

This Easter the group will be staging not just one but four different productions of the rock musical, Godspell . Each of the four local schools will be staging their own version at The Forum Studio Theatre in Chester in April.

Theatretrain is a weekend school of performing arts for youngsters aged six-18. Each week they enjoy classes in singing, dancing and acting while also working towards productions.

Their last show was a spectacular, large-scale performance at The O2 in London last summer so artistic director Steve Davies wanted to give the talented youngsters something completely different for their next project.

Steve said: “By performing at The Forum Studio Theatre the pupils will have the opportunity to perform in a very intimate space and really feel the closeness of their audience. Something that is the complete opposite of a massive arena like The O2.”

The schools meet in Chester, Wrexham and Mold on Saturday mornings as well as having a Friday evening session in Chester. Theatretrain welcomes new pupils to its classes throughout the term so children joining now can still take part in the next production.
