Preparations are underway at the ECHO Arena for the Liverpool International Horse Show.

The three-day event will begin at the Liverpool waterfront arena on New Year's Day.

There will be performances from some of the world's top showjumpers, including Team GB gold medallists and stars preparing for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

As well as the showjumping competitions, there's lots more for visitors to enjoy during each day's two sessions, such as live music from acts including The Bootleg Beatles and the Bella Voci opera duo, tricks from stunt rider Clemence Faivre and her Lusitano horses, and performances from the world record-breaking French Horseman and fire-breathing Black Fire Girls.

For the little ones, there's a Shetland Grand National, which will see a host of Shetland ponies recreate the drama of the famous Aintree steeplechase.

Tickets are still available for the International Horse Show, which runs at the ECHO arena on 1-3 January 2016.

Prices start from £16.70 for children under 14 and senior citizens, and £21.25 for adults. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult. To buy tickets visit www.liverpoolhorseshow.com
