Stars of popular shows Masterchef and the Great British Bake Off will share their secrets at Arley Hall for this year’s Great British Food Festival on September 19 and 20.

The appetising programme will see food producers and street vendors pickling, preserving, cooking and baking a variety of tasty treats for visitors’ consumption, as well as chef demonstrations, talks and Man versus Food-style competitions.

Luis Troyano, a finalist in last year’s Great British Bake Off, will headline the Chef Demo stage on Saturday, September 19, while Masterchef 2014 finalist Luke Owen will take centre stage on Sunday, September 20.

Luis and Luke will help to judge the Great British Cake Off contest, in which amateur bakers go head to head and members of the public reap the rewards by trying their creations.

An in-house forager – a new addition to the programme of events – will lead small groups around the estate in the hunt for wild foods on daily walks which can be booked in advance or on the day.

A festival spokesman said: “There is entertainment for all the family throughout the weekend, including kids’ cookery lessons, circus skills, craft workshop, story time and children’s rides.

“Live music from some great local bands can be heard throughout so you can do some shopping, grab some food and then have a well-earned relax with a drink (or two).

“The perfect recipe for a fun, foodie day out for the whole family.”
