Staff from Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Libraries Service will have their magic wands at the ready for the second annual Harry Potter Book Night on Thursday, February 4.

At this special Night of Spells libraries across the borough will be sharing the wonder of J K Rowling’s stories and wizards, witches, and muggles will be treated to themed craft, trivia and quizzes.

Blacon

At Chester’s Blacon Library there will be a magic-filled evening of potion making and treasure hunting between 4pm and 6pm.

Ellesmere Port

Ellesmere Port Library will join in the fun with a quiz and crafts between 5pm and 6pm.

Northwich

Special Harry Potter crafts and activities will start in Northwich Library from 4pm.

Winsford

Winsford Library will be offering a full day of themed magic and spells from 10am to 6pm with dressing up strongly encouraged.

All the events are free and there is no need to pre-book.

Other libraries taking part can be spotted using the special Harry Potter events map.

Cabinet member for culture, leisure and wellbeing Louise Gittins, said: “It is so exciting to be joining up with thousands of other libraries, schools, bookshops and community centres throughout the world to celebrate the second annual Harry Potter Book Night. Harry Potter books have sparked a love of reading across generations.”
