The Darnhall Show was a quintessentially British affair this year.

Held for the second time at Court House Farm the summer fete featured shire horses, courtesy of Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, the crowning of the Rose Queen Phillipa Moss and entertainment from the Earl of Stamford Morris Dancers and the Worleston School Choir.

More than 50 dogs entertered the dog show causing a few headaches for judges from Ash House Boarding Kennels, and a 20 mile vintage tractor run around the lanes of mid-Cheshire added a touch of nostalgia to the proceedings.

Groups represented included Darnhall WI, Guides and Brownies, and a farmers’ market, stalls and a funfair made for a colourful and enjoyable day.
