Tickets have gone on sale now for the popular Lantern Magic event at Chester Zoo.

Bookings for the popular magical night time journey through the Upton attraction were snapped up quickly last year.

This year, to celebrate the zoo's woodland and garden creatures, the trail will also include some new lantern sculptures, puppets and experiences for all the family to enjoy.

Take the zebra crossing through a constellation of stars and on to see your favourite zoo animal lanterns.

Strolling through the enchanted forest you'll also meet colourful festive characters and catch a glimpse of Santa on his sleigh - a perfect start to the festive season.

What can you see?

Your ticket includes entry to a pre-booked session of The Lanterns.

You'll be invited to stroll around the zoo after dark to enjoy all of the night time sounds, the beautiful lantern-lit gardens and of course the magnificent, larger than life animal lanterns.

As part of the event there will be a range of winter warmer meals and street food for you to enjoy, or you can bring your own food.

There won't be an opportunity to meet Father Christmas but he will be driving his sleigh through the zoo during the event so you will be able to see him and take photos of him.
