Look good in red? Then it’s time to get in training for the fifth annual Santa Dash.

The festive fun run will take place on Sunday, December 6 at 10am, with early bird bookings receiving a £5 discount.

Adults and children aged 5-15 years-old receive a complimentary Santa suit when they sign up, which you can wear as you dance, prance or dash around the scenic 3.3km route starting from Riverside Innovation Centre to the finish line in the city centre.

You could get a team together with your family, friends and colleagues as the more the merrier to raise funds for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and Countess of Chester Babygrow Appeal.

Head of fundraising for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd Sylvia Pearl said: “Christmas is a great way to get people together and participate in something that’s fun whilst having an opportunity to give something back to local charities. Both the Hospice and the Babygrow Appeal have touched the lives of many local families and by taking part in this event you’ll be help us to continue offering our services.”

Besides the Big Man himself you might catch a celebrity on the run for charity. BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin took part in last year’s run and this year’s event has been sponsored by Virgin Money.

Fundraising manager at the Countess of Chester Hospital Janet Ratcliffe said: “The Chester Santa Dash has grown in popularity over the years and we’re delighted to have Virgin Money as our key sponsor this year. We rely heavily on participants not only signing up but encouraging their friends, families and colleagues to sponsor them – after all it’s not every day you get to dress up as Santa and run around the City!”
