Organisers are hard at work planning one of the largest community events which takes place in Ellesmere Port.

Ellesmere Port Lions Club will be staging their annual firework spectacular and fun evening at Whitby Park on Friday, November 6.

Last year the event attracted 6,000 people from the community to enjoy the display.

The show opens at 4.30pm with the fun fair which will be on the car park at Whitby Park.

As a result, the car park will be closed from 6pm on Thursday November 5 until 8am on Saturday November 7.

Alternative parking will be available at the Civic Hall and town centre main car parks.

There will be entertainment and music with Capital FM, the fun fair with rides for all ages and plenty of refreshments and various stalls apart from the stunning must see display at 7.30pm.

Fundraising chairman Steve Talbot said: “This year and hopefully in years to come with the usual fantastic support of the community we can continue with this very popular and safe family friendly event as it has to be one of the best in the north west.

“Entrance is by bucket donation so please be generous in order that we can continue to stage the event and help the Ellesmere Port community by helping those less fortunate who may need our support. Every last penny raised will go to this cause.”

He added: “This is a family non-alcohol event and alcohol will not be available or allowed.”
