The multi-award winning comedian, acclaimed author and star of Live at the Electric and Unzipped Russell Kane will be appearing at The Brindley in Runcorn on Tuesday, April 22.
Smallness follows on from an intimate 10-night-only run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where the comic performed to just 55 people each evening at Pleasance That.
Russell Kane remains the only comic to have won both the Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for his widely celebrated show Smokescreens and Castles which was later released on DVD.
The comedian performed his most recent show Posturing Delivery at an impressive 73 venues up and down the country, including a sold-out night at London’s prestigious Hammersmith Apollo.
As well as his huge success as a comedian, Russell is a firmly established name on the small screen.
After a critically-acclaimed first series hosting an ensemble of the best new acts on the comedy scene, Live at the Electric will return to BBC Three for a second run later this year.
Kane has co-hosted two series of Unzipped (BBC Three) and How to Win Eurovision (BBC Three) with Radio 1’s Greg James, and presented his own one-hour special show on Radio 1 in April.
He has appeared on Live at the Apollo (BBC One), The Graham Norton Show (BBC One) and won Celebrity Mastermind (BBC Two) with his specialist subject – the life and novels of Evelyn Waugh.
A regular on both radio and TV panel shows, Russell has appeared on Celebrity Juice (ITV2), The Apprentice: You're Fired (BBC2), Set List (Sky Atlantic), Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), and regularly appears on It’s Your Round, Just a Minute, A Good Read (all BBC Radio 4), and Britain’s Got More Talent (ITV2).
Russell’s debut novel The Humorist was published to rave reviews in 2012 and he has written a play called The Great British Country Fete for the Bush Theatre.
