Organisers of the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) are inviting budding photographers to show off their skills for the chance to win a great prize.

Entrants should send through their best shots from previous CPOP events, that truly capture the spirit, power and excitement of the weekend. Images can feature any of the action across the weekend, from on track action and air displays, to live music performances and water activity.

The best picture will be chosen by a panel of judges and the winning photographer will receive a pair of tickets for Saturday, June 13, a VIP parking pass and a helicopter ride for two over the festival site.

James Hall, event director at CPOP, said: “We wanted to run a photography competition to not only see some of the great pictures taken year after year by our visitors, but also take a look back at the event over the past eight years, as seen through the eyes of the spectators.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing and sharing the entries from the general public.”

The eighth staging of CPOP will celebrate ‘power’ on land, air and water with events including a 1,000bhp-plus class on the famous Cholmondeley track. The festival will honour the Lotus marque on Friday, June 12, American Muscle cars on Saturday, June 13 and Eighties supercars on Sunday, June 14.

In addition, the world’s only flying Vulcan will be taking to the skies above Cholmondeley, with the Red Bull Matadors entertaining the crowd with an aerobatic display.

The above, combined with camping, live music from Tenors of Rock and the RPJ Band and hundreds of exciting trade stands, will help make CPOP a family-friendly motorsport event.

More event details will be released in the coming months but tickets are now on sale at www.cpop.co.uk for the event at Cholmondeley Castle, Malpas, Cheshire.

Entries should be sent to admin@cpop.co.uk or submitted via Twitter (@PageantofPower) or Facebook (www.facebook.com/cholmondeleypageantofpower) by midnight on Friday, May 15. Full terms and conditions are available online at www.cpop.co.uk/termsandconditionsphotocomp.
