Chester’s racing calendar came to a spectacular close for 2015 with The Golden Square Shopping Centre Season Finale.

More than 18,000 racegoers enjoyed a sun drenched Roodee cheering on the close of a successful season for the Race Company which saw more than 295,000 people attend races, from the prestigious May Festival to the Season Finale last weekend.

Racegoers rose to the occasion, donning stylish attire as they enjoyed a full card of seven thrilling races. Spectator’s favourite, jockey Franny Norton brought his children Shay and Talia along, joining their father in the winners’ enclosure for a trophy presentation.

During the day, two lucky racegoers both won £1500 after entering a prize draw with chesterBET to win a free £500 punt on the outcome of the England v Wales Rugby World Cup game which was being shown at The White Horse that evening. Being of Welsh heritage certainly came good for them both as they backed their home nation to win.

Chidren enjoyed free entertainment on the Open Course which included Titan the 60 foot slide and exit collections were by SSAFA, the charity which supports armed forces, those serving, veterans and their families.
