Children visiting Chester are being invited to take part in a festive Elf-Trail around the city centre, to be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes.

Created by CH1ChesterBID Company – the team behind Chester’s Business Improvement District (BID) – in partnership with Marketing Cheshire, the trail features chELFie - Chester’s very own Christmas elf - and his friends, hiding in city centre shops and businesses.

Children can pick up a trail map and entry form from Chester Visitor Information Centre and go elf-spotting. They must then visit at least ten shops on the map and record the words the elves are holding.

Every child who takes part will receive a small gift and be entered into a prize draw to win one of three fantastic prizes: an iPad Air, a £50 voucher for The Disney Store or a family day pass to Chester Zoo.

Paul Daniels, chair of CH1ChesterBID Company, said: “Our aim is to fill Chester with fun and excitement this Christmas and hiding chELFie and his friends in the city centre gives visitors the chance to play hide and seek on a grand scale. There’s also the opportunity to discover some of the hidden gems we have here.

“We hope everyone has a fantastic time hunting down the elves and following the trail.”

This isn’t the last Chester will see of chELFie. He will be starting off this year’s Santa Dash on December 7, and will be a familiar face in the city centre, handing out gifts and information with some festive friends over Christmas.

Children can also meet him at the free screening of Elf at the Grosvenor Museum on December 6, tickets are selling fast so make sure you book yours now by visiting www.ch1chesterbid.co.uk/events

Visitors can also take a ‘Selfie with ChELFie’ and share it with him on Instagram or Twitter @chELFie_ch1.
