Spend Valentine’s dancing the night away at Alexander’s in Chester with Zoot Serious and the Bellyful of Bop for a swinging evening.

The Chester-based band are an 11 piece band performing high energy rhythm and blues.

From blues to jump jive, from contemporary sounds to modern swing and classic soul, Zoot are extremely versatile and have a play list ranging from The Blues Brothers to James Brown, Colin James and Cab Calloway.

In their time, Zoot have played with many of the greats including King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys, Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Snake Davies and Jim Diamond, Kiki Dee, Chrissy Hynde and The Pretenders, The Yardbirds and The Real Thing.

They generate a real party atmosphere and the variety of the music they play gives them wide age appeal.

The band has released two albums: Serious in 1998, and the aptly named Zoot Serious and the Bellyfull of Pop in 2006 and boast a five piece rhythm section and six piece brass section.
