To mark its 80th anniversary, Upton Dramatic Society is staging Alarms and Excursions by Michael Frayn.

This play was described in the Sunday Times as “simply breathtakingly, comfortingly and appallingly funny” and in six playlets demonstrates cautionary tales about gizmos, gadgets and humans on the blink.

It will be staged from Wednesday, December 3 to Saturday, December 6 at 7.30pm at the village hall in Heath Road.

Tickets are available from The Bache Post Office or The A41 Shoe Repairs and Services Shop on Long Lane Upton or by calling 01244 382174 or 07736631507.

Upton Dramatic Society has now cast its spring production of The Diary of Anne Frank, a moving dramatisation of the life of a group of Jews forced to hide from the persecution by the Nazis in Amsterdam.

The director Michael Fair has for many years wanted to stage this play and is pleased with the cast that has been assembled for this production.
