Students from University of Chester will take centre stage at the Lantern Theatre in Liverpool when it plays host to the second production from Quintus Theatre Company on June 5-6.

From Laurence Olivier Award-winning author Caryl Churchill, Heart’s Desire sees couple Brian and Alice, along with senile Great Aunt Maisie, cope with the monotony of everyday life through an engaging and comedic production.

While waiting for their daughter to arrive home from Australia, the waiting becomes tedious and we watch as the same scene is reset again and again and again.

Quintus Theatre Company’s resident actors, Jessie Harris, Lesley-Staum Lewis (last seen at the Lantern earlier this year as Kate in the acclaimed Winona) and Nick Wright are all first class graduates from the University of Chester and are looking forward to debut their production at the Lantern with help behind the scenes from production/stage manager Gemma Bamford.

Lewis said: “We’re very excited to be performing Heart’s Desire. Liverpool has a rich history of embracing a variety of theatre productions, something we’re all delighted to soon be a part of with this contemporary piece.”

Performances starts at 7.30pm on June 5 and 6 at The Lantern in Liverpool.

Tickets are £7.50 (£5.50 concessions) and are available from www.lanterntheatreliverpool.co.uk , or at the box office on 01517 030 000.
