Rehearsals are well under way for the upcoming Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, which opens a week on Friday with Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

The season runs from July 4 until Sunday, August 24 with a new adaptation of The Secret Garden and the Bard’s romp, The Comedy of Errors, completing the line-up.

Organisers have revealed more than 11,000 tickets have been sold, with over a week to go until the show opens.

Artistic director Alex Clifton said: “We are so excited to be back in Chester for what we believe is the highlight of the summer.

“The rehearsals are going brilliantly, with witches in the morning and puppets in the afternoon – there’s never a dull moment!”
