Chester Little Theatre is on the look-out for a smooth young man with an underlying sense of threat who looks good in leather.

Their May production will be classic black comedy Entertaining Mr Sloane by Joe Orton, a sensation when it was premiered in 1964.

Described as ‘a real shocker’, the play is spiced with violence and deals with heterosexuality and homosexuality in equal measure, delivered with panache in language which is quirky, witty and elegant.

The play centres around a power struggle between brother and sister, Ed and Kath, for the attention of the sexy, leather-clad new lodger.

Their father, Dadda, seems to remember him from somewhere – but where? Dadda’s returning memory seems to pose a threat to our Mr S.

A reading of the play will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 7.45pm followed by open auditions on Thursday, February 5 at 7.30pm. The performance dates are from May 9-16.

The director is Delyse Rostron, who was recently awarded Best Director by the Cheshire Theatre Guild for her direction of another great comedy, California Suite .
