It's rare that you'll come away from a 5-2 home loss feeling anything but despondent.

But Chester FC supporters, very much like manager Jon McCarthy, were far from downhearted yesterday.

Lincoln City may have ended their side's nine-game unbeaten league run with a five-star display.

Yes there were gripes about the goals conceded, another woeful referee, and the desire for a striker as good as Lincoln's two-goal talisman Matt Rhead.

But overall the mood among the fan base was fairly upbeat.

Andy Moulton said: "I thought we played ok until the last 20 minutes. Better side won in the end though. Sometimes you've got to hold your hands up and move on."
