WIDS coach Lee McDermott believes his young side has come of age.
The 35-10 win over Anselmians was courtesy of an outstanding first-half dis-play in which they racked up 23 unanswered points.
McDermott's boys played some fantastic football and a good crowd witnessed some great tries.
The boss is absolutely delighted at the massive strides his team has taken.
'We have probably the youngest side in the league, and over the last eight or nine months, I have seen all of those players grow from boys into men.
'I cannot speak highly enough of all of them.'
The stop-start nature of this season's fixture means Widnes are forced to take yet another break from league action this weekend.
But they do so after a fifth win in seven games, which leaves them in sixth place in South Lancs/North Cheshire One.
Wids return to league action on April 14 at high fliers Wirral.
Elsewhere, the Heath Road club's second and third teams are in the pool for a game prior to their last round of league fixtures on Saturday week.
