WINNINGTON Park have boosted their fight against relegation by signing full back Neil Welch for his second spell at Burrow's Hill.

Welch has been playing National Three level rugby for Cleckheaton, partnering former England and British Lions star John Bentley but has relocated to Mid Cheshire.

But Winnington renew their campaign at home to Tyldesley on Saturday (2.15pm) with a crippling injury list.

Matt Dodd (back) and Pete Dennett (ligaments) are both doubtful and their absence would mean seven first choice players will be sidelined.

Their visitors are five points clear of Park in fifth from bottom spot. Wilmslow and Bowdon seem more likely targets but victory could suck Tyldesley into the battle.

While the 1st team were unoccupied at the weekend, the 2nd and 3rd team games at Chester and Macclesfield suffered waterlogged pitches.

On Saturday, Park 2nds are at Ormskirk and the 3rds host Broughton Park.
