ANOTHER no-nonsense performance by championshipchasing Waterloo gave them a ninth successive win as they brushed aside derby rivals New Brighton 39-17.

Waterloo always called the tune in this rugged derby as tries arrived via Kerfoot (2), Jan van Deventer, Gareth Davies, Tattersall and Payne and skipper Tony Handley added three conversions and a penalty to pass the 150 point mark for the season.

New Brighton had a tireless worker in Anthony Birley who collected a try, penalty and two conversions with Ian Davies also going over.

Dudley 18pts Liverpool St Helens 17: LSH will be wondering how this game got away from them as they outscored the home side by three tries to two.

Simon Worsley's try with 10 minutes left gave LSH the lead but a late Dudley penalty was the clincher.

Orrell 57pts Bedford 24: Division One Orrell were at their brilliant best and scored at more than a point a minute in the second half with a six-try blast.

Leigh Hinton set a club record 32 points thanks to a hat-trick of tries, seven conversions and a penalty.

The rest of the Orrell tries were scored by Scott Barrow (2), Wade Kelly, Alfie Too'ala and SamReay.

West Park 48pts Driffield 20: Ian Callaghan, Mark Turner and top tackler Rob Hanson led the way as West Park kept up the pressure on North One leaders Bradford and Bingley.

Tom Gray scored the try of the game after a move involving Darren Wilson, Callaghan and Andy Roberts.

The rest of the tries came from Gray again, Andy Roberts (2), skipper Liam McLoughlin, Callaghan, Turner and Andy Soutar who also added four conversions.

Widnes 20pts Anselmians 12: Widnes are out on their own at the top of Cheshire/South Lancashire Division One following the defeat of joint leaders Bowdon by Wilmslow.

Hard-working Anselmians took a five-point lead thanks to a James Shallcross try before Widnes set up their

seventh successive win with tries by Paul Borg, Mike Lamb and Gareth Riley with Stuart Hussey adding a conversion and penalty.

The visitors deservedly grabbed another try by Scott Tunna and Neil Turner converted.

Marple 5pts Sefton 12: It was the Osborne brothers show for Sefton who notched up their fourth successive victory to climb into the top half of Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three.

Phil Osborne scored the first try, brother Wayne the second and Phil Evans added a conversion while Andy Walsh was outstanding in a pack which laid the platformfor victory.
