WALES must brace themselves for a tougher task breaking down England's defence than they faced against the All Blacks in Sydney last weekend.

That was the message today from scrum-half Gareth Cooper as Wales continued their preparations for Sunday's World Cup quarter-final against the Six Nations champions at Suncorp Stadium.

Despite losing 53-37 to New Zealand, Wales managed four tries. But they are well aware England have only conceded two in the tournament so far - the best record of any country.

"Everyone has said how good England's defence is, and we will probably have to play some different tactics. I guess it will be more difficult to break down England's defence than it was against New Zealand," said Cooper.

"There will be a level of expectation on us after New Zealand," he added. "We need to go out and play like we did against New Zealand, but I am sure that we will do alright. We need the same intensity and more control."

Wales coach Steve Hansen will announce his starting line-up to face England tomorrow, and he faces a straight scrum-half choice between Cooper and Dwayne Peel.

"England will provide a huge challenge. They are favourites for the World Cup and this game will be the biggest of the lot of our careers," Cooper said.

"We had nothing to lose against New Zealand, and we showed that we can play with a different intensity.

"We now need to go out and do the same on Sunday."
