CHESTER take a Christmas break following their 22-10 victory over Liverpool-St Helens last Saturday and will be back in action with a visit from North One promotion rivals Hull on January 8.

Director of rugby Steve Dorrington admitted after the game that he was 'slightly disappointed' with the scoreline against the Merseysiders, but very pleased with the win.

'We should have added to the half time lead of 22 points, but LSH were always going to cause problems,' he said.

'The first half performance was game plan perfection.

'We played the rugby we had practised all week. LSH are an improving side and have some very talented players.

'They will spring some shock results in the new year and, hopefully, help us out in the league.'
