Helsby 6Parkonians 63

HELSBY are still searching for their first win of the season in South Lancs/Cheshire Three.

After the previous week’s much-improved display in a narrow defeat to Wallasey, Helsby were humbled by Parkonians on Saturday.

The hosts had to make eight changes to their line-up due to injures and work commitments.

All of Helsby’s points came in the first half from the boot of Kev Ryder – both penalties.

But Parkonians were 27-6 ahead at the break and they ran in a further five tries after the restart.

There were spirited displays from Luke Ryder and Keele Dunbar for Helsby, who are away to Knutsford this Saturday.

Christleton are up to fourth in Division Four West of the University of Salford League. They won 29-22 at West Park 3rds on Saturday – their third win in four matches – as Jason Callaghan helped himself to a hat-trick of tries. Next up is a home meeting with Waterloo 3rds this Saturday.
