FLANKER John Piggot won the Winnington Park Player of the Year award.

Piggot, 21, from Nantwich, shared the limelight with Play-ers' Player of the Year Peter Almond, who signed on as a back row and quickly converted to prop, where he played impressively for most of the season.

Junior and 2nd XV Player of the Year was Phil Parrott.

Park, who continue light training on Tuesdays and Thursdays, expect Martin Molyneux, a former player at Burrows Hill, to help Mark Warr with coaching duties next season. Molyneux has recently coached the North of England Under 18s.

Chris Dale landed the Player of the Year award at Northwich.

Dave Farley and Steve Cochran were the 2nd and 3rd-team recipients, with Mark Johnson the best senior newcomer.

Northwich Ladies and girls were included in the ceremony at Hartford Social Club.

Claire Johnson was the senior player of the year, players' player was Sarah Lydon, most improved player Sophie Cantrell and best newcomer Sharon Harrogate.

U17s top player was Amy Griffiths, players' player Hannah Bowcock and most improved Elizabeth Cornish; U14s player of the year was Thea Breau, players' player Amy Johnson and most improved Rochelle Christian.

Player of the year and best newcomers for the Colts Joe Beker, Rob Johnson; U16s Sean Buckles, Terry Cowburn.
