WINNINGTON were left battered, bruised and beaten on Saturday.

It was a rough encounter with their neighbours and they were aided by some dubious refereeing decisions around the rucks and mauls which resulted in numerous stoppages and three cards - two yellow, one red.

While Park started with the wind at their backs they could not make their territorial advantage pay and Lymm took the lead against the run of play. Their pack won good line-out ball and drove over the line.

Winnnington responded with three penalty points from Nathan Archer when Lymm were caught offside.

The game became scrappy and both Andy Critchley and the Lymm second-row were sin-binned for offences off the ball as the bitter rivalry began to bubble to the surf ace.

Lymm scored again before the break and within five minutes of the restart the game was over as a contest when prop forward Critchley was dismissed. He had intervened when a Lymm player stamped on Andy Barnes' head, an incident missed by the referee.

Lymm then took control of the match, scoring three more tries. Though Park did not stop battling, the absence of player coach Mark Warr and prop Mark Taylor as well as Critchley's sending off were too much to overcome.

Park have no game until they round off the campaign at home to Wilmslow on Saturday week.

Other results: Park 2nds lost to Warrington 16-12 (Gareth May, Paul Horton tries; Gavin Kay con); Park 3rds beat Moore 2nds 69-10 (Joe Ellis 3, Chris Morrison 3, Andy Evans 3, Dave Caine, Andy Howells and Dave Lilly tries).
