IT'S all change for Liverpool St Helens as they bid to get back on to the straight and narrow when they entertain National League Three North rivals Macclesfield tomorrow.

Recent good performances have not been reflected by victories, when with better luck they could have beaten Dudley Kingswinford, second-placed Waterloo, league leaders Halifax and high- riding New Brighton - all games in which they took the lead.

Coach Gary French has been forced to change the side with injuries ruling out skipper Steve Cook (back), Alan Marsh (knee) and Martin Gaskell (shoulder and neck).

It gives a chance to Ian Pearce and Jon Nugent, who make their league debuts, while Liverpool University student Mark Handley returns to the second row and Sean Casey takes over as acting captain.

LSH welcome the arrival on a two-match loan of 20 year-old prop Simon Sharrott, who has played for Rotherham's academy and second teams. This is a result of the long-standing friendship between French and Andy Northey, the former St Helens RL star who now coaches at Rotherham.

LSH are also hoping to announce the signing of a South African prop providing contractual problems are sorted out.

Waterloo will be clear favourites at Longton, who are bottom of Three North with one win and a draw from 11 games.

Unbeaten Waterloo have almost a clean bill of health apart from David Blyth, who has started light training after breaking his arm.

The only slight doubt is Rob Hitchmough, who could return after a late fitness test on a back injury. If he does not make it, top try scorer Jan van Deventer will continue at full-back.

Orrell could be top of Division One by tomorrow tea time if they win at London Welsh and collect a bonus point and thirdplaced Pertemps Bees topple leaders Worcester and prevent them from collecting a bonus point.

Alistair Livesey and Simon Haughton miss out as Ross Reynolds brings in Simon Emms, who has played Premiership rugby with Bath, and Scottish World Cup back Andy Craig.

Orrell include winger Leigh Hinton, who has broken the club's points-scoring record in successive weeks with a total of 63 in the last two games.

After an indifferent start with only one win from their opening six games, Sefton have charged up the Cheshire/South Lancashire Third Division with four successive victories in which they have conceded only 18 points while scoring 87.

They are at home to Prenton tomorrow and will hope injured trio Andy Walsh, Peter McBride and Wayne Osborne are all fit.
