ELLESMERE Port made up for the disappointment of losing their relegation battle with Orrell by booking their place in the Cheshire Plate semi-final 24 hours later.
The Port defeated South Lancashire/Cheshire Two side Port Sunlight 39-3.
The home side held a narrow 5-3 lead at the break following a try from Steve Beverley.
But they powered clear after the interval with tries from Dave Birmingham (2), Phil Gow, Martin Titherington, Ian Johnson and Dan Percival.
Ellesmere Port now face Northwich at home in the last four.
The victory made up for the 38-12 league defeat at Orrell Anvils on Saturday.
Port never recovered from going 26-0 down in the first half. They rallied in the second half with tries from Gow and Bobby White but Orrell responded with tries themselves.
Disappointed skipper Neil Percival said: 'We made two mistakes and were punished badly. Being 26-0 down at the break really took the wind out of our sails.'
