UNBEATEN Northwich are set to progress in two cup competitions in four days.

They will be favourites when they meet Sale at Heywood Road tonight (Wednesday, 7.30) in the Cheshire Vase and again on Saturday when they host Mancunian outfit Alwinians in the EDF Intermediate Cup 4th round (2pm).

Coach Mike Penny has a full squad to pick from with recent injury victims Rick Smith, Sam Naylor and Graham Robinson all declaring themselves fit.

Northwich were without a game at the weekend when scheduled hosts Didsbury were ordered to play a cup tie at short notice.

The next league action at Moss Farm is on Saturday week when Aspull's visit coincides with the club's annual Chairman's Day.

Chairman Sam Naylor is organising the event, which starts at noon, and anyone interested in attending should contact him on 01606 871547.

Penny watched the 2nd and 3rd XV who were both at home.

Jamie Brunlees (4) John Keegan (2), Steve Taylor (2), Dave Harvey (2), Andy Stanley, Daniel Davey, Don Phillip and Dean Thompson were try scorers in Northwich 2nds' 84-10 victory over Chester 3rds. Stanley kicked seven conversions.

The 3rds lost to Didsbury 24-12 (Mark James, Peter Naylor; Joel Baker con).

Northwich U15s won at Old Anselmians 27-8 (Jones, Devaney, Turrell, Crozie, Elliot tries; Devaney con).
