CHESTER complete their preparations for the new National League Two North  season by welcoming Firwood Waterloo to Hare Lane on Saturday (3pm).

The friendly will be the first time Nic Corrigan’s promoted side have played in front of their own supporters  this  summer.

To get used to the extra travelling involved in Two North – opponents include Hull, Luctonians and Darlington Mowden Park – Corrigan  devised a demanding pre-season schedule which took Chester to places such as Henley Hawks and Ampthill.

The head coach said: “Our support has been excellent. We’ve had guys travel to Amptill and Henley but it’ll be good to get back to Hare Lane and to see some familiar faces.

“We’re going to have to look after the players but we’re going to treat it as a league fixture.”

Chester  get their league campaign under way at home to Birmingham & Solihull on Saturday, September 7.
