CHESTER ended their season with a heavy home defeat to Huddersfield at Hare Lane on Saturday.

Injuries and absentees meant the squad selected was not the club's strongest, but Russ Meadows, Matt Bebington and Tom Chappell all grounded for tries and Bebington's kicking was as reliable as ever.

Departing head coach Matt Farr said: 'It was a lacklustre final game. We were missing some players through injury and others who were simply doing other things, which in my eyes demonstrates the lack of commitment of some players.

'It was a shame to end the season like that but it was understandable.'
