SIXTH-placed Chester make the long trip to face ninth-placed Hull Ionians tomorrow (3pm) after the postponement of last week's fixture.

The Chester squad were just about to leave for the east coast last Saturday morning when they were informed of the postponement.

Director of rugby Terry Allen said: 'It was disappointing as the players had already met up. One of the lads had driven up from Pwllheli.

'To be fair, though, we've been very fortunate up until last week and that was the first disruption for a while.'

Chester go into the game still without Geraint Parry (knee), Matt Bellamy (broken hand) and Aled Davies (suspended). They are also missing Gavin Woods. Into the side comes Simon Welsh and Steve Johnson.

With the cup final to look forward to on April 11, the side will all be keen to keep their place for the last four league games.

Allen said: 'It's a great chance for them to impress my replacement for next season, Steve Dorrington.

'I am sure Steve is already trying to work out who he wants for next season.'

The team is: M Davies, Nor-cross, Goulding, Sanger, Withers, Welsh, Germishuys, Hughes, B Foden, King, Johnson, Parsley, Burke, Aldersey, T Foden. Replacements: Dorrington, Dour-idge, Lyle.

Chester's A team play New Brighton away and Chester Vets travel to play their Manchester counterparts. Chester thirds will host Flint followed by the televised England v Ireland international in the clubhouse.
