ANSELMIANS did not have a good trip to Birchfield as they finished on the wrong side of a 41-10 scoreline.
Oldershaw continued their improved form with a 40-3 success at Moore. Dave Reason and Mark Sopp had two tries apiece. John Roberts and Phil Johnson also went in and Mike Chapman added two conversions and a brace of penalties.
Wallasey were out of sorts in the Division Three top of the table clash at Manchester Wanderers and crashed 0-40.
Prenton had a better time against Runcorn and won 31-19. Graham Davies crossed twice and Terry Bradford and Wilf Lee once each. Matt Houston kicked the other points.
Ellesmere Port figured in a thrilling 26-26 draw against Ruskin Park.
Parkonians resumed winning form in Division Four 17-5 at the expense of Mossley Hill. Alan Williams and Paul Topping went in and the latter added both goals and a penalty.
Port Sunlight finished 24-12 to the good against Oswestry. Backrow forward Andy Evans gained a try hat-trick. Adam Metcalf also touched down and Peter Jones converted twice.
Several clubs have this weekend off but Wallasey and Hoylake play in the Powergen Vase competition.
