TENNIS:YOUNGSTERS are queuing up to join in Nantwich Tennis Club's summer activities.

The holiday courses are proving so popular that head coach Nicola Herbert has had to draw up a list of reserves as demand continues to mount.

The Summer Junior Tennis Camp at the club, off Middle-wich Road, was packed to the rafters with boys and girls aged six-16 learning new skills and enjoying fun and games.

Now interest is building for the next three-day camp, on August 22, 23 and 24. Nicola said: 'They have been hugely popular and I have needed to make a list of reserves.

'The camps represent a really good opportunity for children to get a taste of tennis if they have never tried the sport before. Then there is the opportunity to carry on their involvement with Nantwich Tennis Club if they enjoy themselves.'

Sessions for kids aged six-nine are between 9-10.30am. They are largely based on teaching ball-to-eye coordination and making players comfortable with a racquet.

Training for players aged 10-16 focuses on games and stroke-play, with mini tennis used as a tool to develop strengths and improve on weaknesses.
