HOCKEY: PARK'S poor run of away results transferred to home territory at Sir John Deanes on Saturday, as they dropped their first points there.

Winnington found themselves unlucky going into the break a goal down, as they laid siege to the Knutsford goal, only to be repelled by some excellent goalkeeping and a succession of goal-line clearances.

Park were undone on the stroke of half time as their rivals capitalised on a deflected short corner.

The second half saw Park create the better chances, but some dogged defending and a couple of sharp breakaway opportunities saw Knutsford extend their lead and hold on for a hard-fought victory.

Chris Mottershaw scored a hat-trick but could not prevent the 2nds going down 5-3 at home to Macclesfield.
