WEST Cheshire AC finished third at the Cheshire Track and Field League first-round match held at Stockport's Woodbank Park.

The club's under 11s finished second thanks to Oliver Ashworth, Alex Kirk, Mark Hearn, James McMahon, Robert Rogers and Sally Pickering.

Jenni Potter, Alice McMahon and Kelly Baker combined for successive victories in the U13 girls 100m, alongside Lucy Okell, Olivia Montez-Brown, Laura Rigby and Alice Field.

Danielle Erskine, Rosie Field and Nienke Verwer scored points for the U15 girls, and the trio of Becky Grimes, Kerry Riley and Mieke Vanestte teamed up for the senior ladies.

Joseph O'Riordan and Oliver Wedgewood scored victories in the U13 boys 200m, alongside 800m winners Michael Willis and Jonathan Cox. Tom Booth completed a busy day that featured appearances in the U15 boys 200m, 1500m and long jump.

Alex Haswell, Alan Littler, Louis Humphreys and Jelle Verwer combined for the club's U17s in 200m, shot, 800m and the 4x100m relay.

Russell Kirk and Peter Haswell covered a range of events to score points in the senior men's competition.

n Entries close on Friday for the Cheshire County AA Track and Field Championships at Maccles-field on May 12 and 13.
