West Cheshire AC are targeting a fifth consecutive Northern Track and Field League title this weekend.

The Stanney Oaks-based senior squad currently head the Division Two West league table with one match remaining which takes place this Saturday at Bebington Oval.

Multi-eventer Dave McKay has spearheaded the club to the verge of an impressive series of results so far this summer.

McKay, who normally achieves success in the throwing events, has been backed up by a number of squad members who have produced muchneeded victories.

McKay’s brother Andrew, John Manning, Sam Rimmer, Tom Booth, James McMahon, Alan Littler, Zac Barnsley, Liam Davoren, Sam Pierre-Louis, Matthew Pagan, Mark Hearn, Zack Holland, Cameron Weaver, Dave Alexander, Andrew Clague, and Mark Davies have all bolstered the men’s squad.

And Alice McMahon has blasted her way to a series of successes in the women’s sprints alongside Shona Valentine, Georgia Barlow, Victoria Smith, Olivia Montez-Brown, Bryony Potter and Danielle Erskine.

Nicola Gore, Sophie Percival, Emily Ball, Kelly Baker, Jenni Potter, Katie Clark, Heather McLintock, Ellie Robinson, Lisa Davies, Su Baird, Jane Pickering and Debbie Erskine have provided plenty of back-up for the purple-vested club.

Pagan has recently represented England in the Schools International Match at Cardiff, while multi-eventers Montez-Brown and James McMahon will represent Cheshire in next month’s English Schools Combined Events Championships in Boston, Lincolnshire.

West Cheshire AC will be aiming to match or better last season’s winning points tally of 1,657.5 which was nearly 200 points more than their nearest rivals.
