THE Chester and Ellesmere Port League's veterans team travelled to Wirral and beat the peninsula's B squad to remain top of the table.

Rob Wylie of the Barrow played his first match of the season, backing up Nev Lacey of Whitby Sports and Dave Morris of Cefn Druids.

In the Chester and Ellesmere Port League cups, Neil Powell edged out Rob Bevan 11-8 in the fifth to lead Castrol through to the semi-finals 6-1 against Great Barrow in the MSC Shield.

Whitby Sports included new signing Andre Baillie-Searle in their 7-2 victory over Whitby Sports B.

Also through to the semis are Corus and British Steel, while in the Bradley Cup favourites Pulford A, including new signings Keith Bartlett and Dave Nelson, over-whelmed County Officers A 9-0.
