CHESHIRE Tigers stormed to a quartet of victories as they took seventh overall in the National Junior Under 20 Promotion Match fixture held at Cleckheaton.

Louis Humphreys, Daisy Flynn-Piercy, and Shona Valentine from West Cheshire and Simon Sloan, from Macclesfield, all registered wins against athletes from Scotland, North Wales, and Northern England.

Louis claimed his victory after launching the javelin 34.64m for top spot in the B competition while Daisy stormed through the field in the latter stages of the B 100m to post a winning time of 13.0s.

Shona powered her way to success in confident style for maximum points in the B 200m to clock 27.3 seconds with Simon demonstrating his skill in negotiating the 110m hurdles to post a B race winning time of 15.7s.

Multi-eventer Carl Van Schie illustrated his pace to clinch second spot in the B 200m with a time of 23.3 seconds while Andrew Whitton delivered

12.90m for second position in a thrilling triple jump - losing out on top spot after a countback with Ben Morgan (North Wales).

Rachel Stoakley finished third in the 100m (13.2), while Emily Done clocked

65.2 seconds for fifth place in the 400m.

Ruth Pritchard showed plenty of determination and pace to finish second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 72.5s, and she cleared 1.40m for third B in the high jump alongside Vale Royal's Emily Jurgis who finished fourth with 1.55m.

Sian Kelman delivered 5.21m for third spot in the long jump, and she was supported by the efforts of Becky Grimes who helped the sprint relay squad finish second in 52.7.

Gareth Preston finished fourth in the long jump (6.14m), alongside Sam Bateson who posted 61.5 for fourth place in the 400m hurdles.

Craig France clocked 11.5 for sixth place in the 100m, Jack Stones posted 72.4 in the B 400m, Alec Beaney clocked 4:46.8 in the 1500m, and Alan Littler rounded 3,000m in 12:47.5.

James Callaghan pocketed valuable points for Tigers in the throwing events, including 11.83m in the shot for fourth position.
