POOL: A TRIO of Crewe sharpshooters will bid to get in the England team on Friday.
Dave Preece, Phil Malam and Lyndsey Roberts will be among the top 64 players in the country at the trial, which is held as a one-off tournament in Great Yarmouth.
It is the third successive trial for Preece, 32, and Malam, 23, as they maintained their outstanding form at county level to qualify.
Roberts, 21, is up for the women's team for the second year running. All three narrowly missed out last time and are determined to make it into the top eight places at the event.
Dave, manager at Dishers Pool and Snooker Club, South Street, Crewe, said: 'It is always tough because the standard of the play is so high.
'But we all have experience of it now and we all have the ability to do well.'
