BOXING: SOUTH Cheshire promoter Pat Brogan enjoyed seeing the old faces he used to hit as he picked up a Services to Boxing award on Sunday.
The London Ex-Boxers Association presented Pat, who works from an office in Haslington and lives in Alsager, with the Al Phillips Award in recognition of his services to boxing.
Members of the association, including former British and World Champions, decided to honour him for a career which has spanned more than 35 years in the sport.
Pat enjoyed a seven-year fighting career before a switch to management and promoting, managing the likes of Dennis Andries when he became British Champion in 1980.
He admits is was nice to bump into former world champions Alan Minter and Maurice Hope, who he fought during his 50-fight professional career.
He said: 'It was a nice luncheon and great to see some old faces again. This is a special honour because it is made by my peers.'
